hello, nice to meet you.

We're illuminare photography + cinematography and this blog/website serves as our initial meeting ground, allowing you to get to know us and our work a little better.  While we have a portfolio section and frequently post blog highlights from our weddings and portrait shoots, we also keep the blog rolling with a bunch of various photos and videos that we do for ourselves when we're out just having a good time.  We feel that it's important to share this side of ourselves and allow you to see who we are, how we work, and what we think is cool.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 weddings


On a sunny and warm January afternoon (just about the only beautiful one we had this year) Jeremy and Vanessa said I do at a beautiful ceremony, followed by a super fun reception at Dallas’ Filter Building on White Rock Lake.  Jeremy and Vanessa had a lovely wedding day to remember, and I’m so glad that Bret and I got to be a part of it.  The day was such a whirlwind to me that at first I wondered if we had gotten any photos, I honestly couldn’t really remember what all I had shot. But of course once I started looking through, I realized that there were many, many wonderful, sweet and simple, and happy moments that we were there for and we had captured.  Jeremy and Vanessa, thank you so much for allowing us to be such an important part of your day.  I hope you enjoy.

We just wrapped up the Nuspl’s Family video, which we shot while doing their family portraits just before Christmas. As you can see, they’re full of love, laughter and just a joy to be around.  The whole family was great at just being themselves, making for a pure and true keepsake memory.

April + David take 2

Monday, January 10, 2011 weddings

Take 2 sessions are my absolute favorite because you have as much time as you want to shoot the gorgeous couple, and you can go to pretty much any location the suits the bride and groom.  With April and David we knew it had to be somewhere unique.  We settled on a great location that over looks the Dallas skyline, and on top of that has a beautiful mid century modern style (a favorite of April’s). We had such a fun time, and I’m so excited for them to see the images we captured that day!
