We're illuminare photography + cinematography and this blog/website serves as our initial meeting ground, allowing you to get to know us and our work a little better. While we have a portfolio section and frequently post blog highlights from our weddings and portrait shoots, we also keep the blog rolling with a bunch of various photos and videos that we do for ourselves when we're out just having a good time. It was a lovely, cool, cloudy morning when we went to shoot April & David’s engagement photos. Since they are both architects, and love the mid-century modern look, the meadows building was the perfect backdrop for this couple. And, we had just enough rain for some great umbrella shots!

July 2, 2010 - 2:12 pm - Thanks Jason. It was shot on a Canon HV30 with a wide angle lens attached at times. It's a pretty good little HD camcorder.
The evening of Karen’s senior portrait shoot was a race for time against the setting sun. We shot a blend of stills and video using the dramatic sunlight that totally captured Karen’s sense of styles, starting with a more casual look and ending with a super chic cosmopolitanism that would leave many fashion models wondering if they should start looking for day jobs.
A few months back on Valentine’s Day I went up and shot some maternity photos for Meredith & Raun. It’s now little Ben’s turn for a shot in front of the camera, and he did great! He takes very well after his mother and father in the photogenic department! 
He loved all the excitement! There’s no sleeping baby here!

When you are walking around a small town in full wedding get up you attract a fair amount of attention. This kid asked if he could be in the photos. I think he was just kidding, but when Bret said if he could a backflip, that he could be in the photo he jumped on the opportunity!
