We're illuminare photography + cinematography and this blog/website serves as our initial meeting ground, allowing you to get to know us and our work a little better.  While we have a portfolio section and frequently post blog highlights from our weddings and portrait shoots, we also keep the blog rolling with a bunch of various photos and videos that we do for ourselves when we're out just having a good time.  We feel that it's important to share this side of ourselves and allow you to see who we are, how we work, and what we think is cool.

Our first photoshoot since having Colton, and we couldn’t have asked for a better family!  Melissa and Craig are a super sweet couple, and their little daughter Piper is just adorable, with a firecracker personality. She was cracking jokes to keep the mood light, and even showed us how to do the dance move  “the running man” (which she informed us a kid in her class made up).

All this fun was at Watters Creek in Allen which has a lot of fun bridges and landscaping in addition to good food and shopping. It was a great evening followed by Bret and I taking advantage of our first night of babysitting and having a nice dinner on the patio listening to live music.

What’s better than being pregnant?  Being pregnant right along with your best friend!  After months and months of both of us trying, we just so happened to both get pregnant within just a few days of each other!  It’s been a great experience comparing symptoms, and hormonal ups and downs, and all the joys of pregnancy with Renee as we are both going through all of it at pretty much the exact same time. It’s amazing. I’m pretty sure my little boy, and Renee’s little girl will be the best of buds. Anyway, I was thrilled she wanted me (ahem, I convinced her) to take a few maternity photos of this pregnancy, so we had a little shoot at her house, and since Harrison’s fourth birthday is right around the corner, we took the opportunity to throw in some 4 year old shots as well complete with a yearly shot of Harrison with his little Pat the bunny.  Pat sure is getting smaller and smaller. ;)   Renee is a beautiful mommy, and I love the ones with her and Harrison together.  He’s really excited about his little sister coming soon, and I know Renee, Harrison, and Baby Avery will treasure these shots for years to come.
