The evening of Karen’s senior portrait shoot was a race for time against the setting sun. We shot a blend of stills and video using the dramatic sunlight that totally captured Karen’s sense of styles, starting with a more casual look and ending with a super chic cosmopolitanism that would leave many fashion models wondering if they should start looking for day jobs.

Little Logan Joins the World

You may remember a few posts back I did some maternity photos for Jeremy & Michelle. Well, their little one has arrived, and let me tell you, he is a sweet little thing! I got to hold him for a few minutes before we started shooting, and he stole my heart from the second I picked him up! I’m so excited for Jeremy & Michelle, and of course, Little Logan!

My niece Jillian (Jilly Bean) turned one in February. I thought she was cute when she was born, but I gotta tell ya, I don’t think it gets much cuter than this!

Our friends, The Gills

The Gills and the Janaks went for a little stroll on a rainy, windy and VERY cold day in early December. We had planned to go somewhere park like and pretty, but as the rain was coming down pretty hard, off and on, we decided just to look for cover. We managed to stay somewhat dry and Harrison was being as cute as ever! He had a blast playing with his Grandma Achoo (his nickname for Steve’s mom) And Bret and I were able to sneak some cute couple shots of Steve and Renee while they weren’t looking. It was one of those days when nothing really goes as planned but with a little patience and some creativity, everything turns out all the better for it.

Harrison was given some photo lessons by Bret and I think he took some pretty cute shots! I may have to update my facebook profile pic.

Angie Parra & Family

When you have a large family, as you get older, it is almost impossible for everyone to be in the same state at the same time, much less in the same house! Angie had her whole family coming in from different parts of the country for thanksgiving and took the opportunity to get some photos of her family together.

Thanks so much, Angie! I really enjoyed meeting your family and I hope you all had a lovely thanksgiving together!

parker gets a baby brother

You may remember in July I did some photos for the Griffin family and Diane was expecting little Sutton to come along very soon. Well, he is here now so Bret and I went over and got some shots of this beautiful family of 4.

It was also fun shooting Parker in her little room. It is such a little pink paradise!

Parker had to take a break for a little ice cream snack. She asked Bret if he would like some too. It was super sweet!

Holden & Hudson

It’s time already for Hudson’s 3 month photos! What an adorable little chunk he is too!

Holden is an absolute GEM of a big brother! He loved taking care of Hudson and I think he really loved showing off his Big Boy room!

The Hefners

I had the pleasure of photographing the Hefners with their newest addition. I shot Holden’s whole first year of photos and now it’s so cool to see him all grown up into a big kid! It was really sweet to watch him with his little brother, Hudson! It was so cute!

I love shots of mom & dad with their little ones! It’s so sweet to see.

We went outside for a couple of shots. It was 8:45 in the morning and already it was getting unbearably HOT! Gotta Love Texas!

B + A Take 2

In April we did Beth and Andy’s great wedding downtown. With the wedding being in the evening and Beth and Andy not wanting to see each other before the big moment they decided to go for a “Take 2 Shoot” What a great idea! We had plenty of time and didn’t have to worry about rushing to get back to their guests! Since we went for more of an urban theme for the engagement photos we decided to drive them out to a little park just 30 minutes or so outside of downtown Dallas. It’s actually the same park that Bret and I got engaged!

The morning started out cloudy but by the time Beth and Andy arrived the sun was shining and it was turning into a beautiful day!

I LOVED these tall grass flower things we found!

I still like an occasional black and white image!

We have a video for the wedding and Take 2 session! Can’t wait to put it up here it’s looking so good!
