Renee & Harrison

What’s better than being pregnant? Being pregnant right along with your best friend! After months and months of both of us trying, we just so happened to both get pregnant within just a few days of each other! It’s been a great experience comparing symptoms, and hormonal ups and downs, and all the joys of pregnancy with Renee as we are both going through all of it at pretty much the exact same time. It’s amazing. I’m pretty sure my little boy, and Renee’s little girl will be the best of buds. Anyway, I was thrilled she wanted me (ahem, I convinced her) to take a few maternity photos of this pregnancy, so we had a little shoot at her house, and since Harrison’s fourth birthday is right around the corner, we took the opportunity to throw in some 4 year old shots as well complete with a yearly shot of Harrison with his little Pat the bunny. Pat sure is getting smaller and smaller. Renee is a beautiful mommy, and I love the ones with her and Harrison together. He’s really excited about his little sister coming soon, and I know Renee, Harrison, and Baby Avery will treasure these shots for years to come.

I know it seems as if I’ve been off the radar a bit with my blog. It’s been a crazy couple of months getting ready for our little Colton’s arrival. I’ve got a couple more things coming in the next couple of days, but I wanted to start with some maternity photos that Bret took of me. As part of our preparation for the baby, a visit with Bret’s Nana in the country was a must. We figured it would probably be a while before we made it back down there so we wanted to take the opportunity when we could! Luckily we went just before the MAJOR heat wave and we were able to snag a few maternity shots of myself. I’m not gonna lie. I LOVE them. I didn’t even realize how big my belly had gotten until I saw the photos, and now a month later I can’t believe how much I’ve grown since then. Holy baby, Here he comes.

Michelle & Jeremy

Last Sunday I got to go out to Fort Worth and meet Jeremy & Michelle for their mommy & daddy to be portrait session. They are a super sweet couple and have an awesome home for great portraits complete with a HUGE living room window for natural light! Not to mention the totally cute baby room with almost life size animals and a VERY cool circle shag rug. That is going to be one lucky baby!

Meredith & Raun

Many of you know that Dallas was hit a week or so ago with a record snowstorm that covered us in about 12 inches of the white stuff! It was beautiful but it did cause a ton of problems the main one being that 40,000 people lost power for a while. Bret and I were among them and we were out for about 4 days. We are super blessed and have family close by that we could stay with until we finally had heat again, but it was an interesting few days, coming home to our freezing house to pick up a few things for the next day, rummaging around in the dark using my cell phone as a flash light…Well, it so happened that our power was still out on February 14, Valentines day. I had an extra special session scheduled that day and I wasn’t about to miss it. Meredith and Raun are about to be parents. What a better way to celebrate Valentine’s day than to have artistic photos taken of your beautiful belly. We had a great session and I’m so excited about how the photos turned out! Meredith and Raun are naturals in front of the camera and made it easy to get beautiful images!

Maternity mini sessions

I held an event at Destination Maternity for expectant moms. It was pretty cold that day but we had a couple come in for a mini photo session.

The Griffin Family Video

Parker Griffin

Parker is getting ready to turn 3 in July and she is going to get a baby brother for a birthday present! Diane and Greg wanted to get some 3 year shots of Parker before the new baby arrives so we went out to a great little spot in Addison!

They are such a sweet family and it was fun getting Parker to giggle!

I love this shot of parker. I really coudn’t believe how long her hair has gotten since I shot her 2 year photos!

This was one of my favorite family shots!

We had to do a lot of walking around the nature preserve. Diane was such a trooper walking so far at almost 8 months along!

A Pea in the Pod

Last weekend Bret and I were part of a cool event at “a pea in the pod” Maternity clothing store. Moms-to-be came in and had their makeup done professionally by Amber Thompson of Red Door Spas, and then they had a mini maternity photo shoot. It was very fun, and we got to meet a ton of great people! We were expecting somewhere between 4-10 soon to be moms and we had 13! Since there were so many I decided just to put one favorite of each girl, and I still think it will be my longest post ever!

Cindy’s Maternity Video

What do you get when you are beautiful, pregnant, and sister to a photographer? You get to be a test subject for all of our crazy adventure shoot ideas! Cindy was a great subject for us (twice actually!) while we practiced and refined a unique way to celebrate a woman’s pregnancy. You’ve probably seen some of the awesome photographs from Cindy’s maternity shoot (click here if you didn’t!), but now we thought we’d show you the video side of the shoot!

Also, this is her first time seeing the completed thing, so Cindy and Ryan, congratulations on your new baby girl and we hope you enjoy the video!

Cindy Jaggi

Yesterday was awesome! Cindy has to be the most beautiful pregnant woman I’ve ever seen. (and I’m not biased ) We drove forever and found several great spots for photos and video. To our surprise we had a beautiful blue sky and a rather warm day for November. Bret is working on getting the video put together, but I really wanted to post some of the shots because I’m so excited about them.
