We're illuminare photography + cinematography and this blog/website serves as our initial meeting ground, allowing you to get to know us and our work a little better. While we have a portfolio section and frequently post blog highlights from our weddings and portrait shoots, we also keep the blog rolling with a bunch of various photos and videos that we do for ourselves when we're out just having a good time. It was a lovely, cool, cloudy morning when we went to shoot April & David’s engagement photos. Since they are both architects, and love the mid-century modern look, the meadows building was the perfect backdrop for this couple. And, we had just enough rain for some great umbrella shots!

We knew Stephanie and Dan needed a unique idea for their engagement session so we thought why not a carnival for this fun loving couple! We had a BLAST! We ran around like little kids picking our rides, playing the games. Dan actually broke a beer bottle for a prize then he managed to turn...
Here it is! Bret did a great job setting up shots all day and putting this together so that we’d have this awesome little memento of the day that he asked me to marry him. And yes, the end is a live take of him proposing! The Proposal from illuminare on Vimeo.
After a full day of location scouting and hanging out, Bret set the video camera up for one final shot. When he came over to me he was breathing like he had just run a mile and his heart was beating a mile a minute. I turned around and he got down on one knee...
As you could see from Saturday’s post below, Beth and Andy were great to photograph. We are so pleased with how their images turned out!
