We're illuminare photography + cinematography and this blog/website serves as our initial meeting ground, allowing you to get to know us and our work a little better.  While we have a portfolio section and frequently post blog highlights from our weddings and portrait shoots, we also keep the blog rolling with a bunch of various photos and videos that we do for ourselves when we're out just having a good time.  We feel that it's important to share this side of ourselves and allow you to see who we are, how we work, and what we think is cool.

Aunt Mary & Uncle Bill

While in Gulf Shores in May, my Aunt Mary and Uncle Bill celebrated 20 years of marriage by renewing their wedding vows on the beach. My Aunt Mary was a beautiful bride 20 years ago, but she was absolutely stunning on her 20th anniversary.  With their faces glowing and “big ol hearts dancing in their eyes” they pledged their love for each other once again in a perfect sunset beach ceremony. It was truly moving to see.  Their love for each other is still just as strong as it was when they got married and I had tears in my eyes while looking through the photos and seeing the love and joy that radiated through them.

Aunt Mary’s best friend and maid of honor (who she’s known for as long as I can remember) Shirley,  was there with her husband Lyn. They were also a very sweet couple!

Kay Brown is the lucky dog that gets to watch my little niece Jillian during the day. She is a lovely person, and Bret and I really enjoyed capturing some photos of her growing family. She has one little grandbaby already, and one  on the way!  Thanks so much to Kay and her daughters and their husbands for braving the heat that day, and letting us capture some beautiful memories for you!

Stephanie + Dan – A Glimpse

As a companion to Stephanie and Dan’s wedding photography we also shot a highlight video, that I really think of more as “a glimpse” into all the little bits and pieces that made that day theirs.  This is my favorite video that I have done to date.  There was just this raw feeling to the whole thing as I put it all together; it was so real that it was surreal.  And whatever that means exactly, I tried to focus on it.  I hope that it comes across well, because Stephanie and Dan are an amazingly beautiful couple.

You might want to grab yourself a Coke, and some popcorn because this is a long one!  On May 1st Stephanie & Dan tied the knot in a beautiful morning wedding at the Gleneagles country club in Plano.  From the gorgeous flowers, to the classic car that they rode away in, no detail was left untouched. Stephanie looked absolutely stunning in her gown, with the bridesmaids and their gray and yellow chiffon dresses were the perfect complement. There were so many beautiful moments to capture, and many happy tears were shed.  It was really such a lovely & fun day,  and I’m so happy to have been able to share it with Stephanie & Dan.
